Code of Conduct

How do we achieve excellence?

We build a solid foundation as instructors and dancers through a foundation based on strength and character. Begin to establish habits and routines. Create a schedule and follow it through. This will help you plan your time and progress successfully.

What are our objectives?
  • Develop participants’ dance techniques, skills, and styles.
  • Develop good habits and discipline.
  • Develop a proper lifestyle and choices through nutrition and exercise.
  • To understand the benefits of exercise.


Discipline:
Students must be prepared to participate in each class. Students are expected to execute class material to the best of their ability

Participants must maintain a commitment to instruction and correction by observing carefully, listening, and assessing your own and others progress and improvement. Maintain a sense of personal responsibility for learning by arriving on time, note taking, and using classroom etiquette.

Rules for Dancers:
  1. Wear comfortable, figure, hugging clothes at all times so the instructor can see how your body moves.
  2. No jewelry, watches, long earrings, or necklaces should be worn.
  3. Do not chew gum during class.
  4. Turn off cell phones during class.
  5. Folkloric dance shoes for women, boots for men or athletic shoes; bring bandana and skirt every practice
  6. Hair completely pulled back into a bun or ponytail


Dancer’s Integrity Code:

A dancer’s honesty, trust, fairness, respect, and responsibility are necessary to build character. These values are essential to promote and maintain a high level of integrity. Each dancer is responsible for his or her actions. Dancers are representatives of their communities and should uphold a sense of pride and dignity.

Dancers will learn:
  • To follow verbal instructions
  • To proper use of weight on both feet
  • To shift weight to foot
  • To have foot positioning
  • To complete a rhythm pattern
  • To control balance
  • To have a center point of balance
  • To execute a turn technique
  • To spot while turning
  • To follow choreography
  • To lead and follow
